BIOGRAPHY

Massinissa Selmani was born in Algiers. He currently lives and works in France.

His work tries all kinds of experiments that drawing allows, and is characterized by extre-me simplicity – often presenting montages of images and drawings, or short animations in which mingle humor, irony, and sometimes even a sense of revolt. The subjects of his works often rooted in political or social news, and press clip-pings.

In 2015 Massinissa Selmani was selected by Okwui Enwezor for the 56th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, entitled All the World’s Futures, where he received a Special Mention.

His work was also exhibited in 2015 at the 13th Biennale de Lyon, curated by Ralph Rugoff.

In 2016 he was awarded the Art [ ] Collectors Prize.
