MSz: The jeans we wear most days, organic fruit grown in distant countries that we sometimes buy, our smartphones that market forces pressure us to regularly replace, the next design project I hope to make… for each of these, can we really determine their impact on the environment and their effect on our health? It seems extremely difficult to make the right virtuous choices with certainty. If we consider ecology to be a type of hygiene, I would be concerned first about my own mental hygiene. That is where our relationship with the world begins.
18. Issues such as ecology and sustainability are very much part of design today. Are these aspects important to you as a designer?
