The Musée départemental de la Céramique, Lezoux opened to the public in March 2007. It is an archaeology museum built around collections originating from the Gallo-Roman site, Lezoux, which was one of the greatest centres for the production of ceramics in the Western Roman Empire.

The museum is located in a former 19th century pottery, sandstone and earthenware factory. Over 1,200 archaeological objects have been exhibited over the course of its history in a permanent exhibition evoking the extensive production of ceramics in Lezoux between the 1st and 4th centuries AD. In this era, there were hundreds of potters in Lezoux spanning several dozen studios.
